On the whole, 'Kissing Booth 2' has similar vibes and beat as any other teenage rom-com focusing on teenage relationship woes. And the Kissing Booth event brings in it's share of sweet, romantic moments.įrom the cast, Joey King stands out, Jacob Elordi and Joel Courtney effectively stay true to their characters, and Taylor Zakhar Perez and Maise Richardson-Sellers leave an impression. There's a certain zing in Marco and Elle's chemistry that adds some excitement. ![]() On the upside, Elle’s character arc shows promise as she takes her time to soul search, hold her own and make up her mind about what she actually wants to do. Much of ‘Kissing Booth 2’ also focuses on Elle and Lee’s friendship (which we already know of from the first film) and what Rachel makes of them always hanging out together. However in the sequel, they spend most of their time apart from each other and brooding over their feelings. ![]() While 'Kissing Booth' had its set of flaws and problematic stance, what made the first film hugely popular was the chemistry between the lead pair Joey King and Jacob Elordi. Will Elle be able to resist Marco’s charm and is there more to Noah and Chloe’s relationship than meets the eye? Back in high school, there is Marco (Taylor Zakhar Perez), the hot new entrant who vies for Elle’s attention and agrees to be her dance partner at a dancing video game contest. Although Noah’s closeness with his university friend Chloe (Maise Richardson-Sellers) makes her jealous and bothers her to the point where she almost calls off their relationship. And hogging most of her best friend Lee’s (Joel Courtney) time, so much so that his girlfriend, Rachel (Meganne Young) is now positively irritated with Elle.Which puts Lee in a rather awkward position.īut when Noah convinces Elle to apply to Harvard instead of Boston University, as per her pact with Lee, she jumps at the chance of them being together, eventually. Even if that means ignoring a few of Noah’s messages and calls. Once high school resumes, Elle decidedly stays busy in her senior year, so she doesn’t come across as the clingy one in their long distance relationship.
